How much did Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson actually sign for? According to Mike Florio of Profootballtalk it appears a lot less than was originally reported. Florio, who does an excellent job breaking down contracts, is reporting that he believes the deal was actually 1.25 million, and if Johnson meets his incentives in the contract, the total value of his contract will be only worth 2.035 million.

Florio says he was told that the Titans simply shifted some money around from his existing contract and gave Johnson basically a signing bonus.

This will not the final word on Johnson’s’ contract, as if he comes anywhere close to having a repeat of last years season, the Titans will definitely be needing to open their check books if there is a season in 2011. Johnson had made some claims before he signed this new contract that he wanted somewhere in the range of 30-40 million in guaranteed money. In the end though, for a little more than 1 million, the Titans will have Johnson’s service in 2010, which after all was key for the Titans to compete in the upcoming season.

Young told the hosts that he knew Chris Johnson would return.Whether or not Young knew, will never be known, however he has to be thrilled that the dynamic running back will be returning for the 2010 season as they both find success by feeding off one another.

“I pretty much knew what was going to happen anyway. Host: So you knew this was coming for a while? “Yeah, because of the respect that C.J. has for us and his teammates and knowing that he loves the game of football as well as the organization and how much they care about him and how much he means to us. I knew they were going to come to some kind of terms.”

The Tennessee Titans head into 2010 with many unanswered questions, but one thing is for certain, RB Chris Johnson owns Madden 2011.

Johnson ranked an overall player score of 99, a 99 on overall speed as well, as if anyone in the NFL hasn’t noticed he wasn’t fast. Titans QB Vince Young scored a low 79, but if Madden had factored in boxing ability he would have scored higher.Tennessee’s receivers didn’t score all that high as Kenny Britt scored an overall 82, and that’s not good after Britt said he was disgusted with his offseason workouts.

Samford grad, CB Cortland Finnegan was the highest rated Titans defender with an overall 92 rating. Finnegan has only recorded 11 interceptions in his short tenure in the NFL and is vastly underrated.

Which Tennessee Titans squad will fans see in 2010? The one that started the season 0-6 or the one that finished the season 8-2? Tom Weir of USA Today penned a column taking a look at what fans should expect in 2010.

As Weir writes, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the 2010 version of the team. Potential trouble surrounding Vince Young, a weakened defense and a potential holdout by superstar running back Chris Johnson all contribute to potential problems for the Titans.

For all the off field problems which have plagued Young, this offseason he’s starting showing some leadership qualities. Young was instrumental in getting TE Bo Scaife back to the practice field.
