Former Titan White released by Seahawks
Former Tennessee Titan RB LenDale White has reportedly been released by the Seattle Seahawks. Early reports from Seahawks OTA’s were that White had slimmed down to under 220 pounds and was looking forward to a big year in Seattle.
His former USC and current Seahawks coach Pete Carroll must not have agreed, as he was reportedly waived this afternoon after being acquired by Seattle in a draft day trade. If the current standoff with Titans RB Chris Johnson continues, one speculates whether or not White will be invited back for the 2010 campaign in Tennessee.
Johnson Tops Titans Troubles
The Tennessee Titans won’t be back on the practice field until June 14th but that doesn’t mean RB Chris Johnson won’t be on their minds. It’s appearing more and more likely that a prolonged holdout could be looming for the Titans. Aaron Kroh wrote a piece about whether or not the Titans should pay Chris Johnson. But we already know the answer here.

Titans TE Bo Scaife returned to practice this week. There have been rumors surrounding Scaife and his contract but he’s back and ready to play. “I love the Titans and my teammates There are no hard feelings and I’m glad to be back.”
Fisher admits a problem with Johnson
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson missed his seventh practice yesterday and there are no signs of seeing Johnson around team activities anytime soon. The Titans management is taking a hard line with the superstar running back.
Fisher joked about the situation regarding Johnson, “He(Johnson) invited me to his football camp but I told him I’d like him to participate in mine.” Johnson has a football camp slated for June 16th. It seems to both sides are posturing for a possible showdown, and the outcome might not be good for the Titans especially if Johnson decides to sit out the 2010 season.
Johnson accounted for 50% of the Titans offense in 2009 and is due to make 550,000.00 this year.
Why Tennessee Should Pay Chris Johnson
The Tennessee Titans face a possible protracted holdout from RB Chris Johnson, and while I normally believe players should honor their contracts, I’m siding with Johnson on this one. NFL Network analysts Warren Sapp and Marshall Faulk have both voiced their solidarity with Johnson, and an on-line petition has even been created demanding that Johnson get a raise.
Johnson “prepared to holdout”
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson is prepared to holdout according to NFLN commentator Warren Sapp. Johnson rushed for 2,006 yards last season and is currently playing under his rookie contract which would pay him a paltry 550,000 dollars this season.

With QB Vince Young finally starting to show some signs of development, Tennessee needs to have Johnson in the backfield if they have any plans on challenging for a playoff berth this coming season.
The Titans would be wise to start some sort of negotiation with Johnson to avoid a holdout.
