Chris Simms is back. After spending a year in Denver backing up Kyle Orton, Simms returns to back up QB Vince Young.

The 6’4″ lefthander began his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he was a third round draft selection. Simms was named the starter for the Bucs after Brian Griese went down with an injury in week 5 during the 2005 season, Simms led the Bucs to a first round playoff loss against the Washington Redskins.

In the 4th game of the 2006 season, Simms ruptured his spleen in a game against the Carolina Panthers and was unable to regain his throwing motion after recovering from surgery, which led him to be released by the Buccaneers.

Simms is the son of former New York Giant and broadcaster Phil Simms.
